In one of the most anticipated appearances at Paris Fashion Week 2010, Sarah Burton unveiled her  first  ever collection for women as director, the Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton 2011 spring /  summer   Collection.
Alexander McQueen kept it simple on the runway composed of mossy wooden planks.
Models appeared wearing light makeup with their hair varying in style.
It was a different Alexander McQueen from previous year’s.
A much softer one.
Pieces that set Alexander McQueen apart from other high street fashion brands were a pair of hand   carved wedge shoes that displayed butterflies, hand-painted feather butterflies designed into a dress,   among other garments.
The finale went underway to the Michael Jackson track I’ll Be There, followed by an applaud from an  audience who wore their appreciation for the Alexander McQueen spring / summer 2011 collection across their faces.
