MIUCCIA PRADA put bananas on the Prada catwalk this evening – has the world gone mad?
You might have reason to think so – but once again the designer known for taking a determinedly individual and unique stance each season, and then somehow persuading everybody around to her point of view, had big, fresh, exciting new ideas to share.
She sometimes gives a clue to what’s going to happen on the womenswear catwalk when she unveils the mens’ collection earlier in the year and we saw a repeat – or rather an exaggeration – of the built up, striped rubber soles, but for girls they’re even bigger and come under silver leather or chequered Mary Janes or brogues. Think big, big, big.
